We never believed people or books when they said you could use "time-outs" on children as young as 1 years old, but we are believers, it really works (most of the time). Isaac is not infrequently asked to sit aside for a brief "moment of reflection". Most common infractions these days in descending order: hitting (Madelyn or Mama or Baba), shoving and pushing Madelyn, throwing food after being told not to. Also 1-2-3 is being used and works about 90% of the time. I still don't get how this works but it does.

Proof in this picture that there is some affection between the two, not just competition for attention and toys and random attempts at bodily harm when nobody is looking.
