We had a wonderful week in Sapporo. The first 5 days were spent at a gorgeous boutique Ski resort in Niseko (Northern Resort Annupuri) where we could ski in/ski out! After 4 days on the slopes, we took a 2 hour train to the city of Sapporo for the last two days and checked out the Winter Ice Festival. It was a great break from work and we got to spend some time with our friends the Gondusky's (the other radiologist/orthopedic surgeon couple who actually planned the trip, with Christina's mother Joan) and their adorable 2 year old daughter.
The Gondusky's and us having a great dinner in town, celebrating Gia's 2nd birdthday
You can see how much snow there was! The drifts were huge, 8-10 ft tall.
I initially skied only the beginners slopes, but toward the end of the week braved the intermediate slopes.
Joel snowboarded and skied. Below, with Joe & Christina.
