Madelyn didn't quite know what to do with the jimmies, so she took them from Patricia and put them on her plate and ate them 1 by 1 before delving into the cupcake.
Aunt Patricia and I felt like the kids needed their first cupcake experience so we made chocolate cupcakes and gave Madelyn the choice of between lemon and chocolate frosting, she chose chocolate (Go daddy's girl!). Isaac had never had a cupcake, at least, one in which he could touch and eat on his own with abandon. He was tentative at first. I think he actually thought it was dirt or something on his hands and didn't like it. Finally, after I forced a little in his mouth, did he buy into it wholeheartedly.
