First visit from GrandDad McFarland!

Joel's dad, Bill, was in Portland on business and got a ticket to Seattle so he could meet the kids. This was their first visit from a grandparent or any relative and it was exciting. He took us to dinner and everyone behaved swimmingly during the meal. Then afterwards their GrandDad got them balloons during a quick shopping jaunt at Safeway which provided endless hours of entertainment. We then Skyped Joel's mother to say hello.

Madelyn really took to Bill almost immediately. She let him hold and carry her. He also helped Joel put together and haul our glider rocker up our stairs, and right now as I type, he is rocking her to sleep. The baby is in the crib sleeping (for how long not sure) so things are good. Joel may get his first shower without an audience tonight. I actually got to unpack a bit of our stuff from our trip and cleaned up the kitchen. Oh the luxury of 3 adults vs 2 kids......

  1. ummm... he (Granddad) doesn't look too too proud does he?! and he (daddy) doesn't look too too proud either!! glad joel had an opportunity to shower audience free. it's those little luxuries we take for granted. any time adults out number the kids is a good!!

  2. Grandad and Dad confess to looking guilty, being caught in the act of scarfing chocolate chip cookies that had recently been denied Madelyn. Anyone who thinks we're not extremely proud couldn't be more mistaken, though!
